JPSC JET 2024 Exam Pattern

JPSC Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) 2024 (Advt No. 08/2025) follows the standard UGC-NET/CSIR-NET pattern. The examination is designed to test eligibility for the post of Assistant Professor and for Ph.D. admissions in Jharkhand universities.

Marking Scheme:

• • Correct Answer: +2 marks for each question.

  • Incorrect Answer: No negative marking.

  • Unattempted Questions: Zero marks are awarded for questions left blank.

JPSC JET 2024 Selection Process

1. Written Examination (OMR Based)

The core of the selection process is a single-session offline exam. There is no interview stage for the JET qualification itself.

2. Minimum Qualifying Marks

To be considered for the merit list, candidates must achieve a minimum aggregate score across both papers.

• General / EWS: 40% aggregate marks.

• BC-I / BC-II / SC / ST / PwBD / Female: 35% aggregate marks.

3. Merit List Preparation (The “Top 6%” Rule)

Simply meeting the qualifying marks does not guarantee a JET certificate. JPSC typically follows the UGC-NET policy for determining the final result:

1. Category-wise Slots: Only the top 6% of the appearing candidates (who meet the minimum qualifying marks) are declared “JET Qualified.”

2. Subject Distribution: These slots are distributed across different subjects and reservation categories (SC, ST, OBC, etc.) based on the government’s reservation policy.

3. Final Ranking: A merit list is prepared for each subject, and the cutoff is determined by the score of the last candidate within that 6% bracket.

4. Result and Certificate Validity

• Status: Candidates who fall within the top 6% of the merit list are issued a JET Eligibility Certificate.

• Validity: The JET certificate for Assistant Professor eligibility is valid for a lifetime.

• Career Path: Once you have this certificate, you are eligible to apply for permanent Assistant Professor vacancies advertised by JPSC or various State Universities in Jharkhand.

How to Check JPSC JET 2024 ?

To download the JPSC JET Admit Card 2024 (Advt. No. 08/2025), you must access the official portal of the Jharkhand Public Service Commission. The admit cards are typically released 7–10 days before the exam date.

Step-by-Step Download Guide

1. Visit the Official Website: Go to www.jpsc.gov.in.

2. Find the JET Link: Look for the link titled “Click here to download Admit Card for Jharkhand Eligibility Test-2024” on the homepage or under the “Admit Card” tab.

3. Access the OTR Portal: You will be redirected to the One Time Registration (OTR) login page.

4. Enter Credentials:

   • Input your Email ID / Mobile Number / OTR Number.

   • Enter your Password.

   • If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot Password” link to reset it via your registered mobile number.

5. View Admit Card: Once logged in, click on the “Download Admit Card” button visible on your dashboard.

6. Verify & Print: Check that your name, photograph, signature, and allotted subject are correct. Download the PDF and take a colored printout.
