The selection is based entirely on a Computer Based Test (CBT). The personal interview has been discontinued for these grades.

• Mode: Objective Type MCQs.

• Total Questions: 100 (1 Mark each).

• Section A (Technical): 80 Questions (Subject-specific).

• Section B (General): 20 Questions (Aptitude/Awareness).

• Negative Marking: No negative marking.

• Mining Sirdar / Deputy Surveyor: Questions will focus on the Coal Mines Regulation 2017, mine safety, surveying instruments, ventilation, and DGMS competency standards.

• Assistant Foreman (Electrical): Focuses on electrical engineering basics, circuit theory, transmission & distribution, electrical machines (AC/DC), and safety regulations.

• General Section (Section B): Includes current affairs, logical reasoning, numerical aptitude, and specific facts regarding Coal India Limited (CIL) and South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL).

The application process for the SECL Grade C Recruitment 2026 is conducted entirely online. The application window opens on April 15, 2026, and you must complete your submission by May 14, 2026.

Step-by-Step Application Guide

1. Access the Portal: Visit the official SECL website at secl-cil.in. Navigate to the “Career” tab and select “Employment Notification for Direct Recruitment.”

2. New Registration: Click on the “Apply Online” link for the Grade C recruitment. Register by entering your name, mobile number, and email ID to receive your User ID and Password.

3. Fill the Form: Log in with your credentials and fill in your personal details, educational qualifications (10th, Diploma/Degree), and mandatory technical certificate details (DGMS, Gas Testing, etc., as applicable).

4. Upload Documents: You will need to upload scanned copies of:

   • Recent color passport-size photograph (not older than 3 weeks).

   • Signature with black ink.

   • Matriculation certificate (for age proof).

   • Educational marksheets and certificates.

   • Category certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) if applicable.

   • Mandatory competency certificates (Mining Sirdarship/Surveyor).

5. Payment of Fee: Pay the application fee online using a Debit/Credit card or Net Banking.

   • UR / OBC / EWS: ₹1,180 (₹1,000 + ₹180 GST).

   • SC / ST / PwBD / Female / Departmental: Exempted (₹0).

6. Final Submission: Review all details carefully. Once submitted, download and save a printout of the Confirmation Page for your records.
